Reading Festival -27/08/2004 Review: After hours of wallowing in mud all day the start of Super Furries was a welcome relief. The atmosphere seemed to be better than the previous days gig, but it seemed like deja-vu when the video screen at the rear of the stage kept switching off during the set, and Gruffs monitors werent working. Disregarding this SFA played at amazing, but unfortunately short set, as well as having to cut part of the set list due to the stage manager trying to get them off in time for Graham Coxon. This years Reading festival was completely bogged down in deep mud, so Gruff dedicated Juxtaposed With U to anyone camping at the festival (thankfully not me!). One of the big highlights was Goldie Lookin Chain coming onstage for Motherfokker, at which point the crowd went wild, then topped off by the resurrection of the Yetis at the end of The Man Dont Give A Fuck. Despite all the technical complications and short sets it was a brilliant gig, well worth almost drowning in the Reading mud for!
